Over 10 years of classroom teaching experience at the K-5 level in various subject areas. I am also experienced in teaching middle school and high school subjects. Experience with regular education, special education, and gifted education. Extensive experience in the teaching of reading and social studies. K-5 Coordinator for Social Studies department for 2 years Highly experienced in the training of student teachers. My background also includes education useful for guidance counselors.
I try to individualize my teaching as much as possible to meet the needs of my students. Differentiation inside the classroom is key, and I try to use up-to-date strategies to implement this in my classroom. I also try to make my class fun! While it's not a teachers' job to tap dance in front of the class, it is important to make it a pleasant experience so that the students are more engaged in the learning experience :) My classroom is a safe and welcoming space for all. I try to connect with my students via their interests in order to make real life connections and bring context into my lessons.
