TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am currently teaching 10th grade English Language Arts and pursuing my Master of Education degree in Digital Education Leadership.

Before making the jump to high school, I had the privilege of teaching 8th grade English Language Arts in California from 2013-2017. I have experience teaching GATE English, Yearbook elective, and ESL classes.

MY TEACHING STYLE

In developing my own teaching style, I have tried to become the teacher I always hoped for (but rarely had) as a young adult. I believe in making lessons relevant and engaging. I am opposed to busy work in all forms. I strive to make every lesson as interesting as possible. I want students collaborating, creating, communicating, and critically thinking on a daily basis.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

- Graduated Summa Cum Laude
- Certified Highly Qualified Teacher, California

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

- Bachelor of Arts in English and Communications
- Single-Subject Teaching Credential
- GATE Certified Teacher
- PBL Certification
- Google Certified Educator Level 1
- MEd in Digital Education Leadership (in progress)

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

When not creating ELA resources, I love to read (bet you couldn't have guessed!). I also enjoy doing Genealogical research, going for long walks with my two Dalmatians, exploring Seattle with my husband, and enjoying the many outdoor opportunities the Pacific Northwest offers.
