She is also beginning a speaking series for educators. Play.Sing.Act, LLC can be found at www.playsingact.com
April's teaching style has always been one of engagement and enthusiasm. Students learn best in an environment that is positive and safe. She teaches in themes that are broken into units so the students have enough time to delve into the particular idea before moving on to the next concept. The students are engaged in the learning process by creating projects, compositions, performances, and bringing current events and trends into the classroom. She has recently switched to a more virtual approach, which has engaged students from various states. It has been really cool to get to watch different students who would normally never get to meet, learn together, share stories, and make music.
April received the Abbot Pennings Academic Scholarship and the Music Scholarship for study at St. Norbert College.
