TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught beginners to intermediate students, ages 5 through 14. I personally have played the piano since a young age, taking from a variety of teachers who taught me everything from improvisation to sight reading to classical training. As an education student, I also have experience student teaching in various elementary school classrooms. In addition, I worked as a pre-K assistant teacher.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I value cultivating the student's love for music more than anything else. While I appreciate rigorous classical training, it can easily (though not always) daunt students or zap the joy out of lessons. I work to make musical training fun and engaging, while not compromising the quality of work done. In addition, I am committed to finding what sparks each individual student's interest... leading to the variety of tools I have created!

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

Last year, my husband and I adopted a tiny black-and-white kitten named Po. Full of energy and enthusiasm, and conveniently matching the keys of a piano, he quickly became my studio mascot. Po and I are so excited to share my teaching tools with you!
