I am a passionate teacher who loves working alongside children. At all times it is my desire to nurture children in a holistic fashion including educationally, socially and emotionally. − Trained in the THRASS, SPALDING, MINILIT and LIEN/LIT approach to teaching spelling, reading and Mathematics − Experience teaching in a unique collaborative teaching model- working alongside many other teachers to provide quality education that meets all students’ educational needs. − Experience in educational testing, including Running Records and LIEN (Learning in Early Numeracy) testing − As a classroom teacher I have had to liase with educational psychologists and counsellors so that I may best support my students. − Demonstrated ability to oversee and write whole school curricula. − Service on a large number of local and national Indigenous based mission trips, leading a program focused on developing social and life skills. − Classroom based contribution to State and Federal funding submissions for students requiring additional learning support. − Extensive experience running extracurricular musical activities involving two whole school musicals and several choirs, requiring extensive communication with the staff and wider school community.
I believe in a firm and fair teaching style, but also at the same time strongly believe in the power of positive relationships with each of my students- allowing them to feel comfortable in my classroom.
