I have spent 20 years in the classroom. Seeing young people learn is the joy that keeps me here. I've sat in the seat of frustration. I know what it is to feel lost in a sea of terms that I don't understand. So I try my best to maintain an empathy for those I teach that feel the same way.
My style is one of working through the thought process, not just the mechanics. I try to point out common mistakes. At the same time, I realize that there's power in the struggle. Sometimes students have to make their own mistakes in order to understand fully.
