I have been an educator for 20 years. I began teaching elementary school and have experience teaching in both the US and Canada. I was drawn into the field of ESL 14 years ago and I now support the language skills of international students at a university. I have completed a M.Ed. in Special Education and I regularly teach teachers in the College of Education. I specialize in ESL and Assessment. Recently, I become interested in Montessori education with my daughter attending a Montessori school. I became a certified Montessori instructor. I like to blend these various specialties into programming that individualizes instruction for students and meets them where they are.
I blend the concepts of individualized instruction with goal-setting and formative assessment. I design activities that are directly accountable to curriculum outcomes and try to provide observable evidence of those outcomes to communicate better with students and families.
