TEACHING EXPERIENCE

7 years teaching in middle school classroom- Math 7, Math 8, Pre-Algebra

MY TEACHING STYLE

It can be quite challenging trying to get 35+ 8th grade students to pay attention in one of their least favorite subjects, so I try to make my graphic organizers visually appealing and as engaging as possible. Even though I am a newer teacher, I tend to stick to more traditional methods of teaching. Technology can be great in small doses, but I have noticed that it can be more distracting than beneficial at times. I also try to let the students collaborate with each other as often as possible, since I realize that sometimes students will listen better to their peers explain something rather than the teacher.
