TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am special education teacher finishing this year in a middle school self-contained autism classroom. I have previously taught a 12:1:1 classroom for students with multiply disabilities. I am about to enter my 5th year of teaching. Although I was a sub teacher for a year before I decided this was the only job for me. In my classroom, I address all academic subject areas as well as life skills, community based instruction, cooking, and behavior management. Next year I will be beginning a new and exciting journey in special education KINDERGARTEN!!!

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style and techniques used in my classroom are based on research based practices and come from an ABA background. I also believe in tailoring the educational experience to the students needs. If everyone learned the same way there would be no Special in Special Education.
