I have had 5 years of experience in Early Childhood Education. Elementary Education and Child Care. I have worked as a paraprofessional, Assistant and Lead Teacher in Head Start, and now am a Lead Preschool teacher in a College Early Childhood Learning Lab School.
My teaching style tends to be somewhat emergent but very traditional in the same sense. I also try to think about the whole child when planning activities, and think about the students that I am planning for. I tend to stick to hands-on activities creating pieces that are theme related to use that some sort of manipulative is added to it to complete the activity. We work a lot with manipulatives, white boards, and active and engaging activities. I also believe in the power of play and so I try to think of things that can be incorporated into the everyday routines and free-choice or center times that will help to enhance their knowledge and skills.
