I have been teaching early childhood for 15 years, working with toddlers and preschoolers, and mentoring teachers and child care program directors. I love encouraging everyone to achieve their highest potential!
I am incredibly inspired by the work done in Reggio Emilia, and I have seen these philosophies work first hand. I love encouraging children to be creative and to appreciate the world around them. In my classroom we utilize the project approach, it is amazing what children can learn when they want to understand, and when learning doesn't feel like work! I share tons of teaching ideas on my blog www.preschoolponderings.com
I was named a Child Care Teacher of the Year award recipient in 2013 by the Terri Lynne Lokoff Child Care Foundation and spoke at the NAEYC conference in 2014 and 2015.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Bowling Green State University.
When I'm not teaching I love to create - crafting, decorating, sewing, and quilting. I also love to bake and spend time with my husband and daughter.
