TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Euclid High School, Fall 1995 to present • Twenty-one years of classroom experience with seventeen of those as a tenured professional • Facilitate the interactive learning process in a classroom setting, utilizing Ohio Learning Content Standards in English/Language Arts, Fine Arts, and Technology * Teach Film and Media arts to students * Serving as an ELA Instructional Coach for two years • Served as one of two teacher leaders in the design and implementation of the framework for the creation of the Euclid Academy of the Arts • Implemented a technology focus to the evaluation of student work with technology-based tools, including mandating that students submit essays through Turnitin.com. • Encouraged critical thinking and persuasive argumentation with the creation of mock trial debates for over three years. • Created a career awareness program that brought in six speakers during the curricular year to address the expressed interests of students and expose them to modern applications of relevant curriculum. • Revised the Film and Media curriculum and created a movie-making component that instructs students in the creation, direction, and production of their films.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style is highly interactive and demands student engagement. I believe in providing several examples, utilizing student work, creating innovative projects at appropriate rigor, making data driven decisions regarding pedagogy, and examining reinforcements and recommendations as I revise my teaching practice.
