TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught in the primary grades for 36 years. Most of this time has been in either kindergarten or first grade.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Yet to be added.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

For two years in a row, I was in Who's Who Among America's Teachers.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

BA in Elementary Education with a minor in mathematics. Master's Degree in Teaching and Learning with an ESL endorsement.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I retired from teaching June 2016 after teaching for 37 years. I started my career as a Title I Math Teacher. I did that for 3 years. The following years were spent teaching kindergarten, first or second grade. My store name, Primarily First, is because I spent the bulk of my career in first grade. I would say that teaching math is my passion. I purposefully plan and prepare math lessons that help students to build their understandings of how numbers work rather than learning math as a process.
