I didn’t always want to be a teacher. I was the kid in class that always said I wanted to be a doctor when I grew up. I ended up working as a teacher’s aide when I started college simply because it would help pay for my tuition. But, I fell in love! I fell in love with students. I fell in love with books. I fell in love with the human interactions and the wow moments and the light bulb moments, and the moments where students hug you unexpectedly and tell you how much you matter. I began my work as behavior management support in middle and high school. After 10 years in the field, I decided to move to elementary. I have now been teaching 1st grade for the past 7 years.
I strongly believe that all students have the ability to be great! I believe in helping students find and cultivate what they are passionate about.
