ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

Terry Stawar is a teacher, healthcare administrator, psychologist, and free lance writer who specializes in humor and psychology. He is the author of How to be a Responsible Father: A Workbook for Offenders and How to be a Responsible Father: A Manual for Group Leaders, both published by the American Correctional Association. Dr. Stawar writes a weekly column for the Southern Indiana Evening News and Tribune . He also is a frequent contributor to Funny Times and Behavioral Healthcare Magazine. He just finished collaborating with his wife, Diane E. Stawar, M.A. LMHC on a book for incarcerated mothers. He is the chief executive officer of LifeSpring Health Systems, Inc., a community healthcare center serving Southern Indiana. Dr. Stawar has more than thirty years of experience in community mental health. He is licensed as a school psychologist, clinical addictions counselor, and mental health counselor, and is a certified psychiatric rehabilitation practitioner. Dr. Stawar is a member of the American Psychological Association, the United States Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association, a Fellow of the American College of Forensic Examiners, and a diplomate in school psychology of the American Board of Psychological Specialties. He has worked as a psychotherapist, psychological examiner, clinical supervisor, and administrator. Dr. Stawar also has conducted several research studies and has written hundreds of professional publications on a wide range of topics, from antisocial personality disorder to the psychological assessment of adolescents. Dr. Stawar has taught psychological testing in the clinical psychology doctoral program at Spalding University in Louisville, Kentucky. He and his wife Diane have one daughter, three sons, three granddaughters and a grandson.
