I'm a kindergarten teacher in Northern California. I am passionate about teaching 5 year olds the fundamental skills they need to be successful.
I strive to address my students' emotional well being while maintaining the rigor necessary to meet common core standards.
I graduated from Brigham Young University with Honors.
I graduated with my BA in English and minor in Linguistics from Brigham Young University in 2010. I got my California state teaching credential from Cal State East Bay in 2014 and went on to get my masters degree in Reading Instruction in 2015. I have been teaching Kindergarten for two years.
I grew up helping in my mother's kindergarten classroom. After college I became her daily aid and created unique push pin art for her students. It was always the students' favorite activity. I now use it in my own classroom. It is one of the main ways I have of addressing fine motor skills and working on hand/eye coordination. My students look forward to each new unit with its accompanying push pin art and my windows are always covered in their beautiful, seasonal designs.
