I've just started teaching in January, but I've had plenty of field experiences during my undergraduate years plus 8 years of babysitting experience. That's in addition to working in a childcare center part time. :)
I believe in hands-on experiences while meeting each child where they are developmentally. I tend to use positive guidance and behavior interventions (where necessary - time away, calm-down techniques, etc.). I also believe in encouraging each child to try their best before walking away from learning a new skill, and the word "can't" is a dirty word in my classroom.
