For about a decade I had the opportunity to teach at an inner-city magnet school in a Title I school district. During this time, I taught a wide variety of classes consisting of PreAP Chemistry, PreAP Algebra I, PreAP Algebra II, PreAP Geometry, PreAP and Dual Enrollment Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus AB, and AP Calculus BC.
My classroom operated under an inquiry-based method of instruction, meaning the students were presented with a broad task or problem to solve on their own and had to use prior knowledge and questioning strategies to work their way through it. The students learned to rely on each other to work through their assignments and discovered the new material they were learning as opposed to being told how to do it. This method of instruction thus relied heavily on the types of materials I was giving the students and the supplemental resources I provided them for ample amounts of practice. This is how Qwizy was born, and now I am sharing these creations with you all.

I have a Bachelor’s of Science in Biochemistry and a Master’s of Science in Mathematics.
The success I saw from implementing inquiry based learning in my classroom taught me the importance of different teaching strategies and techniques that should always be incorporated in the classroom. It also requires a large variety of differentiated instructional materials for each lesson you intend to have the students persist through to reach all students no matter their level. This is why most of my resources consist of multiple different problem sets for teachers to use in their classrooms however they see fit.
