MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style is to assume the role of facilitator by promoting self-learning and aiding students in the development of critical thinking skills. The desks in my classroom are always arranged in groups of 4 facing each other, and the majority of the lessons completed involve group discussion and collaboration.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

Ms. Christy Ellis instructs in High School English and Advanced Placement Language and composition courses at the pinnacle high school in a high performing school district in northwest Florida, of which she is also an alumni. Additionally, she is also an adjunct professor of English at the local state college. She continued her formal education, earning her Master of Science degree in English education in 2012. Christy has a great love for writing. She has written one book, a young adult novel that was published in 2015. She has also written contributing articles for a literary arts review publication. She is a huge fan of many genres, and authors ranging from Bradbury to Alighieri. Sprinkled throughout her lessons are vestiges of her diverse reading choices.
