I have 6 years of teaching Spanish to Jr. High and High School students and have studied extensively abroad.
I try to teach with a student based mind set. Meaning, I give short lectures and then give the students activities for them to practice the ideas the lecture taught. I believe that they learn best when they have to put their lessons into practice. The more speaking in the target language the better. I don't believe textbooks have all of the answers and have decided to write all of my own material for my classes.
Current Communications Director for the AFLTA (Arkansas Foreign Language Teachers Association), Presented at numerous state conferences
Studied Spanish Language Education at Arkansas State University and graduated with honors. Studied abroad in Costa Rica. Made personal educational trips to both Spain and South America to enhance fluency.
I love teaching and I think my methods are a little different than your normal Spanish teacher. I pride myself on the fact that many of my students have gone on to not only study Spanish in college but to also major in it and become Spanish teachers themselves.
