I have over nine years in an educational field. I was a Curriculum Coordinator for a child development center for two years. I taught Pre-K, Kindergarten, third, fourth and fifth grades. I am able to use a lot of things I learned as a lower grade teacher to make learning engaging and fun for older students. Changing grades has allowed to to integrate knowledge gained from previous grades into the current grade I teach.
My teaching style is very eclectic. I love to use many different avenues to get a specific skill across to my students. I currently teach at a Title I school with limited resources, so it is my goal to find fun and creative ways to get my students to want to learn what I am teaching. I integrate technology in every lesson, and emphasize the importance of graphic organizers, as well as dramatization, songs, dances, and hands-on activities, such as: cut and paste for fourth graders or puzzles. Often times, you may catch my class playing golf. Yes, I said golf. As we have learned new concepts, we review in fun ways. I have found that this keeps my students proactive in studying and actually "LEARNING" the material. But there are times when you come into my class, and we are reading a story individually or doing group work. I do not limit my teaching style to just one; I utilize all styles to find the best success for my students. If there is a better way to teach a lesson than the way I am teaching, I am going to find it and use it.

Teaching is not what I do...it is who I am! Every child deserves to have the opportunity to learn in fun, engaging ways to ensure their success. I enjoy walking into my classroom everyday, knowing that we are going to grow together. That is the joy in what I do.
