I come from a family of six teachers (all siblings, mother, and sister-in-law). I have been in my own classroom nearly five years, and subbed three years prior to my current placement. I currently teach 8th grade science, which includes a variety of physical and life science concepts.
I try to keep note-taking and direct instruction to a minimum. My goal is always to get my students out of their seats and/or working with groups. Depending on the lesson/content, I try everything possible to make the learning hands-on.

I received my B.A. from California State University San Marcos, and my single subject science credential (emphasizing Earth Science) from the University of Redlands. I earned my masters in Educational Leadership from California Baptist University.
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy traveling and restoring cars. Both of these hobbies provide real-world experiences that I can easily discuss within each of my lessons.
