TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been an elementary teacher for 10 years now. I taught 2 years in a Charter School where I taught 3rd and 4th grade in a combination classroom. The past 8 years I have been teaching Title I Reading for K-5th grade students. I primarily work with 1st graders, 4th graders, and 5th graders, but there are times when I have small groups of students from each grade level.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Reading is a challenging content area to teach students. I strive to make reading fun for students where they are excited to come to my classroom and want to read "outside" school.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I have been teaching for over 10 years!

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I graduated from Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa with an Elementary Education degree along with a Reading Endorsement. I have my Masters of Education in Reading/Literacy for K-6 from Walden University.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

Along with teaching, I do some coaching. I am the assistant high school volleyball coach and I coach 7th and 8th grade softball in the summer.
