This will be my 5th year as a Special Education teacher at an Arts school in the Bay Area. I taught 6-12 grade my first year and just high school for the last four years. The population I work with is a group of extremely talented artists who have mild to moderate levels of disabilities. All students are mainstreamed in their general education classes and all materials that I create are intended to support students in that environment.
I am extremely organized and I like to model that practice for my students. My task is to find ways to break down assignments so they work for each individual student. My philosophy as an educator is to be my students' ally and coach. My goal is to help my students learn about their strengths, areas of need, and learning styles so they can learn how to be a "good student" in a way that matches their style of learning.

I attended Sonoma State University for my Bachelors in English and my Education Specialist credential. I am currently researching Masters programs! : )
I feel that I am lucky enough to love what I do - even if it drains the life out of me sometimes! I am still learning and growing, but I have found that I am able to combine my creative drive with my organizationally minded habits into documents that are both fun to look at and supportive to struggling students (or any student for that matter)!
