I am a sixth year teacher and have been in the teaching field for 11 years. I was a substitute for 6 years before I had a class of my own. As a substitute, I taught primarily in 6th, 7th and 8th grade math classrooms as well as all subjects in K-12. I have taught first and third grade, as well as tutored all other grade levels in preparation for the STAAR tests. I have a bachelors in Early Childhood Education (EC-4th) and a specialization in Special Education K-12. I have a masters in Mathematics K-5. I am currently a Math Specialist for grades Pk-5.
I prefer to teach in a whole-brain way. Getting the students to visualize what is happening and to use what they know and what they see happening in the story. I like it when students explain their thinking and try to give students an opportunity to show how they got their answer so others can see there are many ways to solve one problem.
Yet to be added
I graduated with my Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education with a specialization in Special Education in 2010. I went back to school in 2011 to get my Masters in Education with a specialization in Mathematics K-5.
