TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been a teacher for 22 years in rural Alaska and at Kenny Lake School in the Copper River School District. I am currently a Business Education teacher in Anchorage.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My goal is to create a learning environment where I bring out the best in my students -- that's my North Star. My students have created a three award-winning documentaries, and won more than 20 awards for short films. I am a strong believe in project-based learning.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

2008 Alaska Teacher of the Year Award and the 2008 Alaska History and Cultural Studies Teacher of the Year. I have written a number of book reviews, and delivered keynotes speeches at state conferences, including the Alaska Society for Technology in Education conferences.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Bachelors of Arts in History and Political Science from the University of Utah; Masters of Arts from the University of Alaska Anchorage.
