I've been teaching 7th grade English for 18 years. Prior to 7th grade, I taught 9-12 special education. I've worked as a curriculum ambassador in my school and outside of my district, training 3-12 teachers how to shift their curriculum to the Common Core standards.
The most important thing to me is my relationships with my students. Without a bond and mutual respect, nothing else is possible. The best part of my job is definitely the moment I implement my lessons and see my students LEARNING and GROWING. I believe in standards based learning and grading, data driven instruction, and adopting a growth mindset. I believe that students are always capable of more than we could ever dream when we give them a chance and involve them in the learning process.

I attended Oswego State University where I received my diploma in Secondary Education with an English concentration. I earned my Masters degree in English Education from Albany State University.
