TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught middle school English for twelve years, including the most recent ten in high-needs schools in New York City public schools. I have also tutored reading, writing, and conversation at the college level. In addition to my classroom experience, I have also worked as an Instructional Coach, helping my colleagues find the absolute best ways to reach their students in a way that suits their personal styles.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I tend to use a basic workshop model in my own classroom, in which I model a skill or strategy to my students, allow them to try it in a safe way, then work on their own or in groups as I confer with students with similar needs.
