TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I teach 8,9, 10 and 11 year olds in England, and have been working in schools for fifteen years. My Guided Reading resources are designed to help children's comprehension skills. As well as providing preparation for reading tests, my hope is that my resources will encourage children to get excited about interesting topics, and stimulate lively classroom discussion. From The World Cup to the Loch Ness Monster, my ever expanding store will help your children get excited about reading!

MY TEACHING STYLE

Teaching should be rooted in the here and now. As a teacher, I'm acutely aware of the need to drop whatever may have been planned and respond to world events. My class keeps a keen eye on the news, and our literacy and reading projects reflect this.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

After working as a journalist for the BBC, I decided to change career and train as a teacher. I have written youth and children's resources for a number of organisations and enjoy delivering these to my own classes.
