I am a current elementary school Literacy Specialist. I focus on literacy assessment and instruction of students with diverse learning needs. I also support the work of classroom teachers through modeling, coaching, and leading grade level team meetings. I conduct professional development sessions in areas of literacy development, including methods for communicating the use of assessment information to guide instructional decisions.

B.A. Elementary Education M. Ed. Reading Education/ Literacy Specialist Relevant Course Work: -Studied the theories and approaches to developing reading and writing in school-based settings. -Analyzed multiple factors and conditions contributing to literacy difficulties and how these affect diagnostic and instructional outcomes. -Focused on methodologies for accommodating literacy problems in regular classrooms and special settings, and communicating with professionals and parents. -Collected and analyzed data using multiple assessment tools, and methods for implementing diagnostic findings in PreK-12 settings. -Studied print and technology-based approached to improving reading and area learning with a special emphasis on diverse learners and struggling readers.
