TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching for 13 years. I’m currently teaching 4th grade language arts.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My style of teaching is student directed. I believe that children learn best when they are highly involved in their own learning. For the last two years, I have been teaching reading with my own style of literature circles. I find that using the literature circles format motivates my students to read, and they learn to enjoy great children’s literature. I love working with children, but my passion is creating performance tasks and teaching resources. I hope you will enjoy using my products!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I was my school’s teacher of the year for 2013-2014.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I received my teaching degree in Early Childhood Education from West Georgia University in 2001 and went on to earn my master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from the American College of Education in Chicago, Illinois in 2011.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I have been married to my wonderful husband for 37 years. I have three adult children and three grandchildren.
