I've taught quilting classes and sewing machine training courses for the past 15 years. I've taught in many quilting, sewing machine shops, church basements and even a barn. I've also had the fantastic opportunity to teach sewing machine training classes at local high schools and middle school.
I teach adult elective education, my teaching style is fun, funny and packed with great info that the student can use to make their sewing the very best it can be! It is my goal that the instruction includes the three primary learning styles and that each student can process and retain the information given.
I've taught quilting at Bernina University 2008, 2009, 2010 Guest instructor on Fons and Porter Love of Quilting 2008 and 2009
I have a BA in History from Central Washington University. I was one-quarter student teaching away from getting my teaching certificate when a practicum at a high school made me realize teaching high school history is not my calling. Several years later, I found myself working at a sewing machine dealership teaching adult sewing classes and I loved it. I still love it! :)
I don't have a teaching certificate, but I do use what I learned from college (before I went screaming out of my practicum to change my major) to create the best quilting/sewing machine classes that I can. I think the whole world should sew and if I had my way we would. :)
