TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I completed my pre-service training at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, graduating with a B.S. in Music Education. After my student teaching experience, I began work for the Department of Defense Education Activity and have been stationed in Japan for the past 3 years where I have taught music in grades pk-6. During this time, I have devoted time to developing methods of music education that are efficient, easy to employ by non-musically trained educators, and focus on interdisciplinary skills.

MY TEACHING STYLE

In my teaching, I use a combination of Orff Schulwerk (I hold a certification), the Kodaly Method, and traditional teaching. I design most of my own materials to meet my interdisciplinary goals of incorporating other subjects into my lessons.

All kits are self-contained and can be lead by instructors with minimal music training. The goal is to provide a basic music education to students at all schools, especially those without access to music specialists.
