TEACHING EXPERIENCE

With almost 30 years of experience in the field of education, Nancy's teaching experience includes both private and public education in grades pre K-8. She has taught a wide range of subjects including the four core curriculums (language arts, social studies, math and science), drama, robotics and video technology. In addition to teaching, Nancy has written for companies focusing on educational needs such as content for web sites, testing and practice guides and questions for state assessment tests. Nancy has also written one novel, Hidden Memories, several supplemental material books and countless workshops. In addition to teaching full time, she provides professional development for teachers.

MY TEACHING STYLE

When entering Nancy's classroom, you will most likely have to take a moment to locate her. She believes in cooperative, project based learning. She believes if students are actively engaged in their own learning, working as a team towards a common outcome, students will achieve success. She fosters the idea of self efficacy and promotes this through her curriculum.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Nancy was chosen as middle level educator of the year in 1994 and again in 2014. She was the grantee of several grants, including over $8,000 worth of grants this past year.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Nancy earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Wyoming, her Masters in Education Administration from Arizona State University and her post masters work at the University of Phoenix. She holds many educational certificates including elementary education, early childhood education, structured English immersion, math specialist, middle school math, middle school language arts, gifted endorsement and education administration.
