I love teaching! I've taught in an international school in Europe as well as in schools in California and Michigan. I spent five years as a principal and missed the creativity and student interaction so much I decided to go back into the classroom when I moved back to the U.S. I've been in education for over 20 years and am still learning and growing like crazy :). I currently teach middle school social studies and serve as the Thinking Maps Coordinator for my district. I am a huge fan of Thinking Maps and have found them to be one of the best tools to help my students master the Common Core Reading & Writing Standards.
My goal is to get kids to love learning and to love history. Writing is a major focus in my class, but I have found that incorporating technology, art, movies, plays, and games fuels their interest and motivation. I've got lots of great links on my website and Pinterest for you and your students. Check them out by clicking here...
