Ms. Bell has been recognized with several teaching awards including the 1999 AWARE award for Excellence in Teaching as teacher of the year for the Arlington, Texas Independent School District, Inductee to the Arlington Education Wall of Fame, Texas PTA Life Membership and is listed in the 2000, 2005, 2006, and 2007 Edition of Who's Who Among American Classroom Teachers. Ms. Bell was named the Association of Professional Oklahoma Educators Elementary Teacher of the Year in 2007. She was Cleveland Elementary Teacher of the year in 2012. She has also received over $5000.00 in grants from the Norman Public Schools Foundation. Her motto is "Whatever it takes" to make her students find love and appreciation in MUSIC. She is thrilled to be a Cleveland Cub.


Is a 1985 Shawnee High School graduate and completed her degree in Music education at the University of Oklahoma. While in college, she was active in the Pride of Oklahoma marching band, the Pride of Oklahoma Student Staff, the University Wind Ensemble, honors chamber group and the University Orchestra After graduating from OU, Ms. Bell taught for 11 years in Arlington, Texas and for one year in McKinney, Texas. Ms. Bell also taught 4 years at Madison Elementary school in Norman and was on the grant writing team that awarded the school the 2003 OETT Technology Trust Grant for $75,000. She has also presented at several state wide technology conferences on the integration of technology into the music classroom. Ms. Bell is a member of MENC, OMEA, NEA, OTA, PTA, Tau Beta Sigma, Mu Phi Epsilon, The Pride of Oklahoma Alumni Band and is the Scholarship Chairwomen for the OU Club of Norman which awards scholarships to incoming freshman at OU who graduate from a Norman High School and Norman North High School. This marks her eighth year at Cleveland Elementary School. As a Cleveland Teacher she is responsible for the music education of students in grades K through 5th grades. She is also the Public Relations Liaison for the Norman Transcript and NPS Cable Channel 18. Ms. Bell also serves on the Technology planning committee and is an advocate for the use of technology in the music classroom. She is also the coordinator of the OU Athletic Volunteer/Mentor program. She has been instrumental in working with the University of Oklahoma's Football and Men's Gymnastic teams to create student mentors for Cleveland. The OU Student Athletes participate in many school events, fundraisers, and daily classroom activities.


Is a proud wife of 22 years to Mike and has 2 very active boys Brooks 17 and Brady 13
