Here is a cute little readers theater that I wrote for my 2nd grade class to perform for their parents this Thanksgiving. It all came from those inspiring Eat Mor Chickin Chick a Fila cows. Enjoy! This work is licensed under a Creative Commons

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I was an elementary school teacher for 7 years. I've taught 1st-5th grade with the majority of my experience coming from 4th, which is hands down my favorite grade to teach! Currently I'm blessed to stay home and teach the best students ever, my own children.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Let's just say Mrs. Frizzle is one of my greatest influences. I always encouraged my students to take risks, get messy, and make mistakes. Any thing that can keep a child guessing, questioning, and creating, is right up my ally.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

My 1st year teaching I received the teacher of the quarter award. I was nominated 3 years in a row for the HEB Excellence in Education award. I received a spotlight on engagement award from my district.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I graduated from Texas State University with a Bachelor's in Fine Arts and I received my teaching certificate from Region 20 Education Service Center.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I absolutely love Science, Creative writing, and baking. I retired at the ripe age of 29 :) when I was blessed with my second beautiful baby boy who is 9 months. My eldest son is 2. Right now we are enjoying the early years of learning at home and I plan to continue homeschooling both my boys in the future. We keep God first in our home and love traveling, and spending time together as a family.
