I have taught fourth grade in a Virginia school for three years now. Before that I had teaching experience in Ohio in a pre-school, second, and a third grade classroom. I have taught at a school with block scheduling and also a school with traditional daily scheduling. Currently I am teaching at a school that is working towards our IB accreditation.
Most of my lessons are inquiry based. The students are the hard workers in my classroom. No answer is given to them, rather they are all discovered through provcations I provide. I am considered the more laid back teacher (the guide on the side) because if the students did not reach the necessary discovery in one day, I will allow another avenue, another day, another opportunity for them to get there on their own. Learning tends to have more meaning when they grasp it on their own as opposed to when it is spoon fed to them.
Undergrad and Graduate school was completed at The Ohio State University. *GO BUCKS!!!*
