Creating resources that will reach students with different learning styles and needs. I am also teaching 3 special education classes this year for kids on the spectrum, so some resources have a differentiated component in them to use with them.

Fifteen years ago, I was given a week to start using technology in the classroom, and I panicked. I was computer literate when I started teaching, but we didn't even have a computer in our classroom back then, so my computer skills eroded. I poured my heart and sole into creating something that my students would like. I had a really great group of kids that year. So I spent the entire weekend going through tutorials, researching material and going through videos. I wanted my slideshow to be both educational and fun... Monday morning came, and I was really apprehensive to show it to them. I had never done anything like that before, and I had no idea what to expect. Would they find it boring and hate it or would they think it was ok? Kids don’t hold back any punches, if they didn’t like, I would definitely hear about it. With my heart in my throat, I pressed play. Applause sounded as the slideshow ended and some students even gave it a standing ovation. They asked if I could play it again and again. They even wanted to dance to the videos. My eyes welled with tears of joy and relief. They liked it. They really, really liked it. Phew! Years later, I found myself spending an increasing amount of time creating content. Until eventually I found that I preferred doing the content just as much as teaching. So I left teaching for a while to study graphic arts, now I am back and combining both passions to creating educational content teachers love.
