TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I began with three of years of teaching art in a K - 12 school, and now, I'm teaching K through 4th. I focus on teaching techniques to build students' toolboxes, and allow students to use these techniques to bring their own ideas to life. It's not about students getting everything polished and perfect; it's about them trying new ideas and skills and gaining experiences.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe in a holistic approach to teaching. I try to inspire my students through visuals of historic and contemporary art, we practice a technique, and then they are encouraged to use the inspiration and technique together in a large scale piece. Techniques are important for tomorrow's artists. I believe that all children are creative and that as long we help them build a tool box of techniques, then they can do the rest.
