I have 13 years of teaching experience in Brighton Area Schools, a renowned public school district in Brighton, Michigan. For the past five years, I have been ranked highly effective by administrators. I have taught a variety of upper level Spanish and English classes at Brighton High School, as well as elementary Spanish classes at two elementary schools in our district. I completed an administrative internship in 2013-14, so I have some leadership experience as well!
I am a hands-on, fun-loving instructor who includes a variety of engaging, performance-based tasks in my everyday instruction. I believe in thinking routines, formative assessments, and allowing students to take an active role in their thinking and learning. With language learning, I believe in authentic, everyday practice through a variety of speaking, listening, writing, and reading activities.
