ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

Hello! My name is Minerva and I’m a Mexican who, for the last 10 years has been living between México and the United States. I am a professional engineer, but I believe my real call is in the field of education. The moment I knew that I was pregnant with my son, I made the vow to raise him bilingual, and that both Spanish and English would be part of his life from day one. Watching my son learn vocabulary in English from videos designed to teach while playing, I decided to develop a similar method to teach Spanish. In 2016, I founded Tots Playtime, a series of educational videos in Spanish for kids. Most recently, I started Reto Bilingüe, www.retobilingue.com a blog for parents that promotes bilingualism all over the world. The blog includes video podcasts with resources, tips, personal experiences from bilingual or multilingual families, and the input of experts on the subject. Today, I’m a proud mom of a fully bilingual boy. At the age of 3, he started to have conversations in both languages, holding his own with native speakers. I believe the key to success in learning languages is the combination of good resources and daily practice. .
