TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught the 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grades for fourteen years and am now a K-5 science coach.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I'm a highly visual, auditory, and tactile learner....thus my style of teaching reflects this. Teaching science, social studies, and language arts are by far my personal favorites. Using the 5E science instructional methods are also a personal favorite as this approach lends itself incredibly well to authentically engaged learning. I'm continuously impressed by the gains that struggling students make in science through active engagement in science. I want them to wonder about everything. I am a huge fan of Kagan Cooperative Learning structures. It's one of the best week-long professional development opportunities that I've ever participated in and didn't know I needed.
