I have had the pleasure of being able to teach in Illinois, China, California, Michigan, and Ohio. I am a recent transplant to the state of Texas!!
I believe in fostering a love of learning by leading by example and trying to make the learning process fun, yet challenging. Because of my ability to teach various states (and countries), I have been able to witness and learn different teaching styles. I feel this exposure has made me an effective instructor. Through my experiences I have gained a clear understanding and appreciation of the diversity of each child. Lastly, the school environment should be a safe and caring place, while also stressing how to be a “good citizen” in and out of the classroom.
During my 2009-2010 school year in Ohio, I was awarded Teacher of the Year for our primary building.
I am a graduate of the University of St. Francis in Joliet, IL. I hold a license in Early Childhood Education (PK-3), along with a (4-5) Generalist Endorsement. I also hold a Master’s Degree in Education.
I love to travel, swim, garden and am an avid reader!
