I'm a mother with 5 children at home from 2 years old to 17. I love learning, playing and growing with my kids. Three of my children have been needed speech therapy. I love learning languages and have studied Spanish, Russian and Korean. I have also spent time tutoring ESL students. While working with my own children and studying myself, I've noticed how quickly I can pick up new vocabulary, sounds and skills when I'm having fun. Yet, I hate the repetition of flashcards for sight words, vocab and other subjects. As I played Shout Out, I realized the great potential to have fun and learn with my children at the same time. Most of my games are inspired by the things they are learning at school or speech therapy or their interests. I hope you will enjoy them as much as we do.
Learning through play.
I received a bachelor's in Social Work from Brigham Young University. Although it was not an education major, it helped me see the importance of personal interactions at all levels. Building and creating relationships between parents, teachers, students, children, family and friends is vital. Play is often a medium that transcends barriers. I've also studied Spanish, Russian and Korean in school, study abroad and through a church mission.
I love to learn and opening this store is a huge learning opportunity. Please let me know if you have any ideas, suggestions or want to team up together.
