I have 23 years of high school teaching experience. I teach Chemistry 11, Chemistry 12 and Advanced Placement Chemistry. In the past I have also taught at the University of British Columbia in their Education Faculty. Other courses I have taught during my career have included Senior Physics, and all of the Junior Sciences.
I try to teach concepts in a visual manner, with many diagrams and models to help students understand the concept completely. I also use many varied example in my notes so students can understand all of the nuances of a concept. I also stress details so student understanding can be complete:)
I have been fortunate enough to win the following awards: 1)University of Chicago Outstanding Educator Award. 2)Youth Mentor award (called the UROC award) which is given by the city in which I work.
(1) Bachelor of Science (Chemistry) (2)Bachelor of Education (Science Education) (3)Masters of Education (Science and Computer Curriculum Focus)
I enjoy teaching very much, and I love to make resources which help my students learn complex concepts. I am a strong believer that if a worksheet asks the proper types of questions, it will help the students understand concepts better. My years of teaching experience have helped me create these classroom tested worksheets.
