TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been an elementary school teacher for 25 years, working the last 20 years for the Department of Defence Education Activity (DoDEA) schools in Guam. I taught 1st grade for 23 years and have been teaching 3rd grade for the past two years.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe teachers should be facilitators in the the classroom, teaching their students how to be responsible for their own learning through hands-on exploration and activities. I love center-based and problem-based learning and management in the classroom.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I earned my Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction: Mathematics from Concordia University in 2014. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from California State University, Fresno in 1988. I completed my teacher certification courses at the University of Guam in 1996.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I have been working on making materials for TPT since 2017 with the assistance of my daughter Sara, who holds a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction: Adolescent Literacy from Concordia University and a Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in Secondary Education from St. John's University in New York City.
