Rob Schroeder is currently Co-Lead Theatre Teacher with Senn Arts Magnet program in Chicago where he teaches Theatre Fundamentals, Theatre Academy and Journalism. Upon arrival at Senn, he established arts partnerships with the Goodman Theater Student Subscription series and Bailiwick Chicago. He is trained in Aesthetic Education through Steppenwolf Teacher Education program and is contributor for the CPS high school theatre REACH assessment. Prior to Senn Arts, he taught English at Chicago High School for the Arts, where he was also proud sponsor of the ChiArts Gay-Straight Alliance, and director of the annual Faculty Showcase fundraiser. There he developed new curricula in American Literature and World Literature. Mr. Schroeder's experience includes English Instructional Coach with the CPS Office of Teaching and Learning, an English and Drama teacher at Roberto Clemente Community Academy, and Lead Educator for the Fine and Performing Arts Academy at Clemente. He was a contributor for the Office of Arts Education Chicago Guide for Teaching and Learning in the Arts, is a member of the Teacher Advisory Panel at The Art Institute of Chicago, and presented his work in arts integration at The National Council of Teachers of English 2011 National Conference. Prior to teaching, Mr. Schroeder worked nationally as a theatre professional as an actor, singer, choreographer, director, teaching artist, administrator, and writer. Locally, he performed at such venues as: Theatre at the Center, Drury Lane Oakbrook, Porchlight Music Theatre, and Lifeline Theatre. He also wrote and performed his solo piece, "Awake" for the Filet of Solo Fest at Live Bait Theatre. He holds a BA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a double major in Theatre & Drama and Radio/TV/Film and an M.Ed. from DePaul University in Secondary English Education.
