I have taught for 13 years in the classroom teaching in a multigrade classroom, where students were tested and worked at their own level. I have spent 5 years teaching kindergarten and my heart is for kindergarten and students learning to read. I have had special needs students in my classrooms as well as acccelerated learners.
My personal style of teaching for young children is very much focused on hands on. I want students to experience as much as possible. And I attempt to reach each student and love when seeing when the child "gets it." When working with high school students I attempt to instruct often on a one-to-one as needed, positioning myself across from the student rather than beside the student so that I can see the facial expressions and the students eyes - I want to see they "got it."
