Over 25 years experience teaching about the natural world in schools, preschools, nature centres, and at the university level. I have taught in the U.S., Panama, and New Zealand.
I'm all about hands-on, dirt-under-the-fingernails activity in my teaching. I'm the teacher who brings in roadkill to dissect at lunchtime science club, keeps live insects at my desk, and carries around a set of microscopes everywhere. If the kids aren't making excessive noise as they chatter and engage in a lesson, I reckon I'm not doing it right.
